Derrida’s deconstructionism is applied to the critique of authority and to revolutionary politics. Thus revolution often results in the reaffirmation of authority. Strategies that work at the limits of discourse are crucial to radical politics because they unmask "the violence and illegitimacy of institutions and laws".
