FOSANELLI, Ivano. ""MON REGARD DISTRAIT ERRE SUR LES RIVES DU LAC DE LUGANO…" IL TICINO DI ELISEE RECLUS"

Abstract

During his two years stay in Ticino, from April 1872, until July 1874,

Elisée Reclus, a French geographer completed the defined outline for the

editing and publication of the Nouvelle Géographie Universelle from a

scientific point of view. Various passages, referring to our region, can be found

in this major work which are the result of the personal experiences of the

author. This contribution begins with an interesting discovery : that of probably

some unpublished pages, inspired by the vision of the lake of Lugano, written in

Pazzallo in April 1873.

This article is in Italian with many French quotations from Reclus, including a probably unpublished letter.
